In my case, I used a thin cotton fabric for testing and used mostly fleece for the final product. Depending on what you used for testing, your final fabric may work up differently than your test fabric. Once you’re happy with your pattern, try it out with your final fabric.Take note of any problem areas, redraw your pattern pieces, and test again.A thick fabric will be difficult to work with and won’t give you a good result. Just don’t use anything too hefty, like upholstery fabric. You know that fabric you bought for a project and then discovered you had way too much? This is a good chance to use it. I wanted to get away from using plastic safety eyes and move to embroidered eyes instead. When I was satisfied with the platypus’ new look, I set out to make one with the fabrics I would use for the final stuffed animal. When I started my business, I knew I wanted to include my platypus as a product, so I revisited my pattern.įirst off, I decided the tail of my platypus was too skinny. I moved on to other projects and put the platypus pattern on the shelf for the time being. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pleased with my effort, as was the recipient of the gift.
